Skateboard competition: Eugene Recreation's Outdoor Program will begin a series of four skateboard contests for all ages and abilities this summer. The first event is July 6 beginning at noon at Cal Young Skate Park. A panel of three judges will rate contestants on their overall use of the park, difficulty of tricks and style in each age bracket. Future contests will be July 27 at Meadowview Skate Park, Aug. 10 at Willamalane Skate Park and Aug. 24 at Churchill Skate Park, the finale to be followed by a concert.
