All pedestrian variations of tennis are, played, i.e. same-sex, doubles, mixed etc.  Championships. For Farman, who took up tennis less than two years ago, and only a few months after a disabling sledding accident, the Florida tourney will be just his third tennis event. Farmen, who also plays basketball with the Eugene Xpress, will compete in open C division and juniors singles and doubles.

Kidsports adds Tot Soccer: Kidsports will offer Tot Soccer this spring as a new soccer playtime program for children ages 3-4. The program will include four sessions, emphasizing having fun while learning basic skills. Three-year-olds will meet on Tuesdays (April 29, May 6, 13 and 20), and 4-year-olds will meet on Thursdays (May 1, 8, 15 and 22). All sessions will be 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. in various high school areas. Registration deadline is April 18. Registration is $25 per player and is available online at www.kidsports.org. Women's recreational soccer: Adult women who would like to play soccer in a friendly, recreational atmosphere may join the Daisy Hat Draw league. Registration is for individuals, not teams. Players are distributed by skill and endurance. Beginners and recuperating players are welcome. No score is kept, nor are referees involved. Games begin April 10. Women's city league soccer: Registration for the City of Eugene's women's C league seven-a-side hat draw spring soccer league has been extended through April 3. Registration of individual players will be accepted through 6 p.m. Thursday at the athletics office, 2700 Hilyard St. The full individual fee of $20 must be paid at the time of registration. Games begin April 9 and continue for eight Wednesdays at the Ascot Track field at Monroe Middle School Monroe Middle School, or Monroe Middle, is located at 5105 Bedford Avenue in the Benson community of Omaha, Nebraska. Speed development camp: The Oregon "All-Sports" Speed Development Camp will be held on June 23-26 at Hayward Field.     The Oregon state high school equestrian teams end March with two of their three annual meets completed, and only an Easter weekend competition at Eugene's Oregon Horse Center remaining.      has overwhelmed its last two opponents, downing Budd Bay of Olympia 67-7 on Saturday after leading only 12-0 through the first 30 minutes, and a week earlier burying war-depleted Peninsula of Bremerton 87-7. When at full strength, Peninsula is largely a U.S. Navy club. Against Peninsula, Man of the Match laurels went to Darren Polamalu, who shared high-scoring honors with Stefan Alexander with three tries each. Ten ERFC players participated in the scoring as Eugene recorded 15 tries and six conversions. Former Eugenean Kevin Graham, now of Seattle, scored Peninsula's only try.

    Thurston High School's second-year rugby club blanked South Eugene's first-year team 24-0 last week in the inaugural meeting between local teams. Thurston scored three first-half tries to take a 19-0 lead while winning its first league game. Thurston was 1-2 going into the past weekend's match at McMinnville. Thurston will entertain the Tualatin Valley Wildcats (0-3) next Saturday. South Eugene evened its league record at 2-2 with the Thurston loss, going into the past weekend's home match with West Linn linn

Walkers and marathon runners start at 8 a.m. and relay runners start at 9 a.m. Running relay teams are composed of five members each running a 5.24-mile segment. Walking relay teams are composed of three walkers with each walking 5.24 miles. Entry fees are $50 for running teams, $30 for walking teams and $10 for individual marathon runners through April 13 (Fees increase to $60, $35 and $12 on April 14.)
