City League softball: Registration for the City of Eugene's 2006 adult summer men's, women's and coed softball leagues will be accepted from returning 2005 summer teams Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the athletics office, Amazon Community Center, 2700 Hilyard St. If openings remain, new teams may register Thursday and Friday. Track City Track Club practice begins Tuesday at the Sheldon High School track, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Following this week, practice will be Monday through Thursday lasting into July. The club is open to girls and boys ages 7-18 and no tryout is necessary. All prospective athletes are welcome to participate the first week free of charge. Ladies golf: The Emerald Valley Women's Club Women’s clubs first arose in the United States during the post-civil war period. Covered Bridge Regatta: The Oregon Association of Rowers' annual crew competition on Dexter Lake is Saturday, with 36 separate races for one-, two-, four- and eight-person crews scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The event draws junior, collegiate, open and masters men's and women's crews from Washington, Oregon and Northern California Northern California, sometimes referred to as NorCal, is the northern portion of the U.S. state of California. Track racing takes place at a velodrome, usually a banked 1,093.6 ft (.333 km) oval. : The Eugene Time Trial and Hill Climb Series for local cyclists takes place every Tuesday evening in April and May. Future Directions for Soccer: Participants at the multi-organization meeting on March 19 agreed that a major local need is more fields for all sports. Individuals and groups in the local soccer community will urge the inclusion of five additional turf fields (one in each high school area, located primarily at middle schools) that the Eugene City Council will decide on April 10 whether to include in a proposed parks iniative to be on the November ballot. SUNDAY, APRIL 9 - The Oregon Track Club Masters will hold its annual marathon relay at the EWEB EWEB Eugene Water and Electric Board (Oregon)  Plaza. Three-person teams will walk three-fifths of a marathon beginning at 8 a.m., or five-person teams will run a marathon beginning at 9 a.m. Entry is $15 per person ($75 per run team, $45 per walk team) through Tuesday. SATURDAY, APRIL 29 - South Coast Running Club presents its Run for the Kids, a 5,000-meter run, 1-mile kids' race and 1-mile non-competitive walk to benefit the Children's Advocacy Center. The event starts at 10 a.m. at John Topits Park (Empire Lakes) in Coos Bay. The entry fee including T-shirt is $15 ($10 for kids 10 and younger) for those registered by April 15. SATURDAY, APRIL 29 - The morning of the OSU spring football game, the Beavers' Fun Run offers a 10,000-meter run and 5,000-meter run/walk through the OSU Corvallis campus and down the players' ramp into Reser Stadium. There will also be a 1,000-meter kids' run inside the stadium. Registration before April 21 is $20 with T-shirt, $15 per person for teams of 10 or more and $10 for ages 12 and younger. SATURDAY, MAY 6 -CASA of Lane County's Champions for Children 8,000-meter run/walk and 2-mile family fun walk will start and finish on the track at Marist High School and follow the Willamette River Bike Path. SATURDAY, APRIL 15 - The 29th annual Roseburg to Coos Bay Relay is a 67-mile run for five-member teams (three legs per runner) and a 23-mile walk for four-person teams (two legs per walker) to benefit Camp Millennium, a summer camping experience for children coping with cancer. The preregistration deadline was March 31, and no registrations will be accepted after April 10.
