Macon, Georgia-based multifamily developer LANDSOUTH has begun leasing PRESTON GROVE AT GEORGETOWN, a 192-unit upscale garden apartment community in Savannah. Preston Grove at Georgetown offers residents a variety of spacious floorplans. Each apartment home features interior details such as gourmet kitchens, crown molding, and private balconies. Additional features include cable and internet access, and alarm and energy management systems. With monthly rents ranging from $595 to $895, amenities include a swimming pool and cabana, lighted tennis courts, sand volleyball court, and clubhouse. The 15-acre community entrance is controlled through a remote access entry gate. VILLAGE GREEN COMPANIES, Farmington Hills, Michigan, along with its partner, AEW Partners III, have purchased three luxury apartment communities in suburban Detroit and Indianapolis. The 2 !6-unit Aspen Meadows in Rochester Hills, Michigan, will be renovated and repositioned by Village Green Management and Village Green Construction Companies. The 544-unit Village Park of Troy in Troy, Michigan, will undergo capital improvements to enhance its curb appeal and operations. Its prime location in one of the fastest growing counties in the Midwest was a key factor in its purchase. The 384-unit Village Park at Shadeland Station will undergo extensive additional renovations and improvements. The community is unique with the expanded wood site and two clubhouses and pools.

JPI, Dallas, Texas, has developed JEFFERSON AT MISSION GATE, a 434-unit garden apartment community in Piano, Texas. Opening last month, the community includes 44 townhome-style units. Amenities include island kitchens, individual intrusion alarms, vaulted ceilings, built-in bookshelves, computer desks, wood-burning fireplaces, separate showers/bathtubs, and ceiling fans in bedrooms. The luxury apartments also have direct access garages and a controlled-access perimeter gate. JPI'S "community lifestyle" amenities include a playground, a sports court for basketball, volleyball, and paddle tennis, a large resort-style pool with a children's wading area and Jacuzzi, and a jogging trail.
