MARATHON.Byline: Gerry Gittelson Staff Writer Television news personality Rick Chambers has agreed to return as master of ceremonies for the eighth-annual Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country, Marathon on Nov. 3. Chambers, who lives in Santa Clarita and is an anchor at KCOP-TV Channel 13, also hosted last year's marathon. He confirmed his return recently, program coordinator Lisa Medel said. ``Rick always does a fabulous job. He's very personal and knows how to work the crowd,'' Medel said. ``He's always been very involved in the community.''
