COMMUNITY NEWS CATHOLIC CHARITIES GROUP PRESENTS ORCUTT AWARDS.The Guadalupe Community Center in Canoga Park, a program of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles Inc., has awarded several individuals and organizations with its annual Mary Logan Orcutt Award. Recipients include L.A. City Councilman Dennis Zine, Telesis Community Credit Union, Raymond T. Bennett and Linda Hock hock: see wine. of St. Mel Catholic Church in Woodland Hills. A posthumous award was given to David Perez of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Canoga Park. The award is named for Mary Logan Orcutt, the wife of a Los Angeles oil magnate, who purchased the land on which the center stands and who oversaw its development. Nine senior Girl Scouts of the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills. have received the Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting. Beau Boeckmann, vice president and chief designer at Galpin Motors, received the Petersen Automotive Museum's Visionary Award. Under Boeckmann family leadership, the company has been the No. 1 volume Ford dealer in the world for the past 15 years. The museum noted that the family has changed how dealers sell cars, and Boeckmann's chief designer status is expanding that influence. Los Angeles City Stations, American Medical Response American Medical Response, Inc. (AMR) is the largest private ambulance provider in the United States. AMR and EmCare are wholly owned subsidiaries of EMSC L.P., an emergency management company held by the investment firm Onex. AMR is based out of Greenwood Village, Colorado. and MedResponse have been honored by West Hills Hospital and Medical Center for excellence in pre-hospital care. Capt. Don Cascio of Canoga Park, captain of Station 106 in West Hills for 16 years, also was cited. Station 106 transports more than 800 patients a year to the hospital's emergency room. The Chatsworth Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), a Colonial patriotic society in the United States, open to women having one or more ancestors who aided the cause of the Revolution. The society was organized (1890) at Washington, D.C. received the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System's Rising Star Award for Service to Veterans for its volunteer work. The chapter also presented several citizenship awards and medals to students for excellence in honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism. The Valley Interfaith Council has honored several organizations and individuals for dedication and assistance to the Valley community.
