Amy Messigian, 16, of Northridge also will receive more than $2,000 from the Northridge Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund in order to attend Junior State's three-week summer program at Georgetown University Georgetown University, in the Georgetown section of Washington, D.C.; Jesuit; coeducational; founded 1789 by John Carroll, chartered 1815, inc. 1844. Its law and medical schools are noteworthy, and its archives are especially rich in letters and manuscripts by and  in Washington, D.C. Along with about 200 students from across the country, Messigian will be shown how the nation's government works.

Messigian, who maintains a 4.3 grade point average at Monroe Law and Government Magnet High School in North Hills, was presented with the scholarship at a Northridge Chamber of Commerce luncheon Friday.

Marsh, an honors medical student in Palmdale High School's magnet program, will be honored at a fund-raising dinner scheduled for Saturday at the Red Lion Hotel in Glendale that Beta Pi Sigma members hope will help supplement the scholarship, said Sofia Williams, a sorority member.

Marsh plans to use her scholarship to attend Clark University in Atlanta and hopes to major in business law and business entrepreneurship.

Additional donations can be made to both scholarships by contacting Ora Skipper, Beta Pi Sigma's event chairwoman, at (818) 896-1304 or the Northridge Chamber of Commerce at (818) 349-5676.
