applicants sought

The Lane County Board of Commissioners seeks applicants for the Vegetation Management Advisory Committee.

The committee reviews roadside vegetation management needs and related issues and makes recommendations to the board.

Meetings are monthly and there is one vacancy VACANCY. A place which is empty. The term is principally applied to cases where an office is not filled.
     2. By the constitution of the United States, the president has the power to fill up vacancies that may happen during the recess of the senate.
. The deadline to apply is June 29. Applications are available in the Board of Commissioners' Office in the Public Service Building, 125 E. Eighth Ave., Eugene. Call 682-4203.

Volunteers wanted

to clean Hendricks Park Hendricks Park (32 ha / 78 acres) is the oldest city park in Eugene, Oregon. Just blocks away from the University of Oregon campus, it contains mature forest, a world-renowned 12-acre rhododendron garden, and a native plant garden.  

Volunteers are sought to help prepare Hendricks Park for the summer this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Forum to target

downtown development

The Citizens for Public Accountability will hold a forum today at 7 p.m. at the Eugene Water & Electric Board to discuss "West Broadway Downtown Development and Citizen Involvement."

Professor Mark Gillem will discuss ways the public can take part in Eugene's Downtown Plan and recent proposals for development. Gillem is an assistant professor in the Departments of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. .

There also will be a discussion about the West Broadway Redevelopment Advisory Committee and what people think they should be considering.
