EAGAN, Minn., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Commerce Clearing House, Inc. (CCH) and West Publishing Company (West) have entered into an agreement that will allow West to offer CCH's Standard Federal Tax Reporter to subscribers of WESTLAW, West's online research service. The agreement was announced today by CCH President and Chief Executive Officer Edward L. Massie and West President and CEO Dwight D. Opperman.
This will be the first time that CCH's flagship federal tax reporter has been available from any source other than CCH. CCH will also be supplying reports of U.S. Tax Court cases to integrate with West's existing cases to provide a complete library of federal tax case information. West has agreed to supply CCH with State Tax Court cases to be made available on CCH ACCESS electronic media such as online and CD-ROM.
"West has a significant share of the legal information market just as CCH has of the tax research field," said Massie. "We think this arrangement will enhance the contents of both companies' services to the segments they serve. All subscribers will benefit. This agreement is an important first step to greater sharing of information between our two companies."
CCH currently offers the Standard Federal Tax Reporter as a 19- volume loose-leaf reporter in print and as an electronic publication on CCH ACCESS Online and on CD-ROM. On WESTLAW, the reporter will provide code, regulations, controlling committee reports, annotations, explanations and current developments regarding federal income taxes arranged by code section. In addition, WESTLAW subscribers will be able to use the reporter's citator to retrieve the cited history of income tax cases and rulings. CCH will provide updated information to West so that the database will remain current.
