The pigment is ordinarily transparent but can be made opaque by mixing with a whiting to produce gouache. prints of pre-WWI Mersey scenes published by the Liverpool Daily Post The Liverpool Daily Post is a newspaper published by Trinity Mirror on Merseyside in England. It is published Monday to Saturday and is published in Merseyside, Cheshire, and North Wales editions, and is the morning paper. & Mercury Newspaper. There were in fact two sets each of six prints published in 1912 and 1913 for 2/6d per set. Now rare, they fetch cpounds 50 per set. The painter, Sam JM Brown (1863-1963 ) followed his father Edwin Brown (1845-1936) in recording the contemporary Mersey scene. Living in Wallasey and later in Caerwys, Sam Brown worked from a studio in St Anne Street.
