I AM a freelance journalist and author now based in Singapore. I worked in West Berlin during the '60s.

One of the stories I covered concerned an incident at Checkpoint Charlie Checkpoint Charlie was the name given by the Western Allies to a crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. Other Allied checkpoints on the Autobahn  concerning the Liverpool rock group, The Takers, formerly The Undertakers.

Two were held by the East Germans for a while. They had just launched their newest record Will You Come Back.
