COMERICA SIGNS AS FIRST DETROIT-AREA REGIONAL WORLD CUP SPONSOR

PONTIAC, Mich., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Comerica Incorporated (NYSE: CMA) is the first regional supporter for the World Cup USA 1994 - Detroit venue, announced Tom King, venue executive director, World Cup USA 1994 - Detroit.
"We are extremely pleased that Comerica has become the first regional World Cup supporter for the Detroit venue," said King. "The World Cup games will be the largest event ever in the Detroit area, and greater in scope than the 1980 Republican National Convention and the National Football League Super Bowl XVI in 1982."
The World Cup games at the Pontiac Silverdome will be played June 18, 22, 24 and 28, 1994.
"The World Cup games will benefit the economy and enhance the image of the metropolitan Detroit community. We are pleased to be a part of this event," said Michael T. Monahan, president, Comerica Bank.
The Detroit venue region encompasses Michigan, Ohio and the eastern half of Indiana and Kentucky.
Regional World Cup supporter packages allow the purchaser exclusive rights to stadium signage, training facility signage, logo usage, World Cup game tickets, and other marketing and merchandising opportunities.
The World Cup is the premier single-sport event in the world. It is estimated that the event will generate an economic impact of more than $100 million in this region alone.
