Two debuts made the Top 10: "Diabolique," a murder suspense film starring Sharon Stone, which earned $5.7 million for third place, and Spike Lee's "Girl 6," which tied for sixth with $2.9 million. Of the films nominated in today's Academy Awards, "Mr. Holland's Opus," released late last year, earned $2 million for the No. 8 spot. Others movies with nominations included "Dead Man Walking," which grossed $1.3 million; "Sense and Sensibility Sense and Sensibility is a novel by the English novelist Jane Austen, that was first published in 1811.
