COME FLY WITH ME B-17 WILL OFFER TOURS, FLIGHTS.

LANCASTER - Airplane airplane, aeroplane, or aircraft, heavier-than-air vehicle, mechanically driven and fitted with fixed wings that support it in flight through the dynamic action of the air.  enthusiasts can ride next week in a World War II-era B-17 Flying Fortress bomber - or climb through it on the ground, if the flight ticket price is too high.

 President Tom Poberezny said in an announcement of the flights.

The plane will give rides at $395 a person - $355 for Experimental Aircraft Association members - on April 19 and 20 at Fox Airfield.

Tours of the plane on the ground are $6 for adults, $5 for students, and $10 for a family. Ground tours are free for children under age 8 and World War II military veterans.

Flights will take place approximately every 45 minutes starting at 10:15 a.m. through 1:15 p.m. on April 19 and 20. Ground tours of the plane will be available each day following the final flight, usually between 2 and 5 p.m.

The plane will be at Van Nuys Airport Van Nuys Airport (IATA: VNY, ICAO: KVNY, FAA LID: VNY) is a public airport located in Van Nuys, California in the San Fernando Valley, within the Los Angeles city limits.  from April 22-24 and in Camarillo on April 26 and 27.

The plane is due to arrive in Lancaster from Torrance about noon Monday, but won't give tours or public flights that day.

Fuddy Duddy is usually based at the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center in Elmira, N.Y. It will be part of a World War II bomber reunion at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis adv. 1. Certainly; really; indeed.

The EAA has toured World War II bombers around the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  each spring and fall since 1994. The air crews are EAA members.

The plane was built by Douglas Aircraft in 1944 in its Long Beach, Calif., plant and delivered to the Pacific Theater Pacific Theater or Pacific Theatre may refer to

. It was converted for use as a VIP transport and in 1946, Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower used the aircraft on his tour of the South Pacific.

Gen. Douglas MacArthur also used it in the 1950s.

The airplane's paint scheme matches that of the original Fuddy Duddy, a B-17G assigned to the 8th Air Force's 447th Bomb Group, 708th Bomb Squadron, during World War II.
