Our new official name is SOFTBANK COMDEX See COMDEX. Inc. Please note there is no comma between "COMDEX" and "Inc." And note also that our new chairman, Masayoshi Son, will introduce this year's three spring keynoters, Monday through Wednesday, at 9 a.m. in the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC GWCC - General Water Consult Corp. GWCC - Georgia World Congress Center GWCC - Gillette Women's Cancer Connection GWCC - Great Western Chemical Company (Portland, Oregon) GWCC - Greater Westminster Citizen's Coalition (Maryland)) Ballroom. TO RECAPITULATE -- Media facilities are located in the West concourse, Level 3, Rooms W363-W369. In order, these facilities include Working Press Room, Press Kit Center, Business Wire, Press Lounge and two rooms for exhibitor Press Conferences. Our job is to facilitate your coverage. IF YOU ARE NEW TO COMDEX -- Don't let the size of the concurrent events intimidate you. Yes, there are more than 1,000 exhibiting companies and, yes, we expect that total attendance this year will set a new record in the 100,000 range. We will have an estimate on the attendance number by noon of day 4. In the meantime ... -- An hour each day of planning will make your showtime much more productive. Principal planning tools include the Program & Exhibits Guide, the Show Daily newspaper, PageNet's new pager and information provider, COMDEX TV available in most hotel rooms and at several show locations, your own "hot list" of companies, products and people, conference session schedules press conference schedule, etc. -- Your press badge admits you to all conference sessions. This is a major benefit; use it. And, for our part, we will make every attempt to have keynote texts and other speaker materials available in the Working Press room and the Press Kit Center. PAVILIONS -- They come in all shapes and sizes: International Pavilions, SIG Pavilions, Platform Partner Pavilions, Competition Pavilions -- each packed with mini-booths, which serve as demonstration areas for a new software package or hardware add-on. Examples this year include: Ace Marketing (Taiwan), Booth No. 1006; Motion Pictures Expert Group (MPEG), Booth No. 1956; Lotus Development NOTES Partners, Booth No. 8164; and New Media magazine's "INVISION Playland," Booth No. 2372. Other featured pavilions this year include: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, Digital Equipment, Windows Solutions, Windows World Open Competition, and Novell. These pavilions offer hundreds of new and innovative companies an opportunity to demonstrate their most exciting products. CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS -- Three keynotes this year, Monday through Wednesday at 9 a.m. each day, will present, respectively: Bert Roberts of MCI, Bill Gates of Microsoft, and Bob Frankenberg of Novell. The keynotes will take place at the Convention Center's Ballroom, with "overflow" seating available in the conference area, West Concourse, Level 2, for piped-in video. Our strong conference program also includes a track of "Industry Insight" sessions, put together by Bear, Stearns Managing Director Andrew J. Neff. These eight Insight sessions will examine from several different perspectives the winning strategies of eight industry leaders, including IBM, Microsoft, Intel, Novell, etc. SERVICES AVAILABLE -- Here's a listing of the services we are prepared to offer you from our Media Facilities in the West Concourse: (1) Computers, modems, phones and fax machines in the Working Press Room, sponsored this year by Novell.
