The first multiprotocol network security firewall in the industry, is designed especially for the Windows NT operating system to protect networks from attacks via the Internet as well as the Intranet.

FireWall/Plus for Windows NT operates on Windows NT versions 3.51 and 4.0 and can be used on a Pentium PC as well as DEC Alpha. Additionally, a special configuration of FireWall/Plus is available for the DEC Alpha to support high-speed connectivity (e.g. T3 and higher speeds).

The product uses stateful inspection technology that operates at the application, circuit, frame (LAN), and packet levels. It achieves security above and beyond most other firewalls by simultaneously filtering traffic at any layer of the communications architecture for any protocol or application. Based on Network-1's unique "INTERCEPTOR" technology, FireWall/Plus operates at the lowest levels of the Windows NT operating system and is able to intercept traffic before it arrives at the operating system level.

With FireWall/Plus on an NT server, network connections not allowed to the server are defeated by FireWall/Plus before Windows NT's access facilities are invoked. FireWall/Plus for Windows NT Server environments provide a full end-to-end, to-the-bit-level multiprotocol security solution that is not available in any server-based security product on the market today.
