Rodriguez will not be a secret much longer. Not after their performance in the Highlanders' 20-0 victory Friday night over Canyon.

Baca and Rodriguez have combined on five passes this season, all for touchdowns. On Friday night, the seniors hooked up for two touchdowns in the intersectional game at Granada Hills.

``We practice hard and try to make the plays work for as many yards as we can,'' Rodriguez said. ``Bobby is doing a good job of getting me the ball and I am just trying to make it work for the team. I am trying to make the plays. Catching touchdown passes, I can't ask for more than that.''

Rodriguez caught passes of 44 and 59 yards against Canyon to boost Granada Hills (2-0) to a 20-0 halftime lead. The 5-foot-10, 157-pound Rodriguez caught three touchdowns in Granada Hills' 47-0 season-opening victory over North Hollywood.

Baca completed 6 of 17 passes for 169 yards after connecting for 148 yards in the first half. Two of his first four completions went to Rodriguez.

``It is kind of fun, but teams are going to start figuring it out after a while,'' Baca said. ``We're going to have to start getting a better passing attack and sustaining longer drives.''

The Highlanders did not need to against Canyon (1-1), with a second consecutive shutout by Granada Hills' defense.

Granada Hills co-coach Darryl Stroh credited linebackers Josh Rivas and Guillermo Garcia
