COMAIR, THE DELTA CONNECTION ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF SERVICE FROM CINCINNATI

CINCINNATI, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- COMAIR, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: COMR), the Cincinnati based Delta Connection airline announced today that effective Oct. 1, 1993, it will expand the number of jet flights from Cincinnati to Providence, R.I., and Montreal to three nonstop flights. COMAIR began serving Providence on July 15 and Montreal on Aug. 1, with the new Canadair Jet aircraft.
Effective Nov. 1, 1993, one additional daily nonstop departure will be added from Cincinnati to Des Moines, Iowa, and Toronto. This additional service gives Cincinnati travelers four roundtrip Des Moines flights and six roundtrip Toronto flights from which to choose. The company began serving Des Moines on July 1, 1993, with one of its first 50-passenger Canadair Jets and has been serving Toronto since 1984.
On Nov. 15, 1993, COMAIR will begin nonstop jet service between Cincinnati and Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton, Pa. This service marks the first Delta system service between the A.B.E. International Airport and Cincinnati and will be operated with the new Canadair Jet aircraft.
With the Nov. 15 schedule, COMAIR will operate 197 departures in Cincinnati each weekday, illustrating the company's commitment to growing the Cincinnati hub through new destinations and increasing frequency. Since the company began taking delivery of the new Canadair Jet aircraft earlier this Spring, it has announced the addition of six new jet markets and began serving seven existing markets with the new Canadair Jet.
The Canadair Jet, manufactured by the Canadair Group of Bombardier, Inc. of Montreal, can cruise at 530 mph and up to 41,000 feet. The good neighbor jet is the quietest jet in the world and is powered by two General Electric CF 34-3A1 turbofan engines. COMAIR has 20 of the Canadair Jets on firm order and 20 on option.
COMAIR is one of the largest regional airlines operating in the U.S., currently employing over 2,200 aviation professionals. With the Nov. 15 schedule, the company will operate 76 state-of-the-art aircraft to 70 cities, 23 states and 3 countries.
