 HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION'S 74TH ANNUAL MEETING


Olympic Basketball Coach, Sports Commentator to Address Morning Sessions
 PRINCETON, N.J., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Nationally syndicated columnist Carl Rowan and veteran White House correspondent Hugh Sidey will participate in a national issues debate before more than 700 healthcare and government officials during the New Jersey Hospital Association's (NJHA) 74th Annual Meeting, Thursday, April 9, at the Hyatt Regency, Princeton.
 Rowan and Sidey will tackle such wide-ranging topics as the presidential election, the economy and healthcare reform, beginning at 1 p.m.
 At noon, New Jersey Gov. Jim Florio will welcome meeting participants and briefly address concerns of hospital executives.
 One of this nation's most critically acclaimed print journalists, Rowan has written political and social commentary for the Chicago Sun Times for more than a quarter century. Sidey, who writes regularly for Time magazine, has covered the American presidency for the last 30 years.
 Highlighting the morning session of the annual meeting will be the installation of Augustine R. Pirolli as chairman of the NJHA Board of Trustees for 1992-93. Currently the chairman-elect for the organization, Pirolli has been president and chief executive officer at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals-University Medical Center, Cherry Hill, N.J.
 Kicking off the 9:30 a.m. meeting will be a special welcome and remarks by Rutgers University women's basketball coach Theresa Grentz. Grentz, who'll coach the U.S. women's Olympic team in Barcelona this summer, will speak on "striving for excellence."
 Prior to the NJHA session, the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) will host television sports commentator Dick Schaap at its annual 7:30 a.m. breakfast meeting. Joining Schaap will be ACHE Executive Vice President (Ms.) Frankie Perry.
 NJHA serves as the advocate for 112 New Jersey hospitals and the patients they serve.
