The Antelope Valley
 residents are expected to assemble Sunday at Lancaster Municipal Stadium at a memorial service for the space shuttle space shuttle, reusable U.S. space vehicle. Patriotic music, speeches and a flyover by a jet are planned for the observance, which is still being organized, officials said.

The observance is scheduled for for 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the stadium on Avenue I at the Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. It is signed as California State Highway 14 along its length. It connects Greater Los Angeles to the rapidly developing Antelope Valley. .

Lancaster city spokeswoman Anne Aldrich said planning began Monday for the memorial service. She said she is still waiting to hear from a number of officials on whether they can attend.

The mayor noted the personal connection of many local residents to the shuttle fleet. He has toured the Air Force Plant 42 complex where the shuttles were built and serviced.

``It makes you feel kind of like you are part of it,'' Roberts said.
