COLTEC INDUSTRIES COMBINES COLTEC AUTOMOTIVE AND HOLLEY AUTOMOTIVE DIVISIONS.Industries Inc (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :COT) is combining its Coltec Automotive Division with its Holley Automotive Division, based in Warren, Michigan Warren is a city in Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 138,247, making Warren the largest city in Macomb County, the third most populous city in Michigan, and Metro Detroit's largest suburb. . This change is being made in order to better serve Coltec Industries' automotive customers and take advantage of economies of scale that will result from the new larger division, which will be called Holley Automotive. Philip M. Peters, a Coltec Industries group president and president of Holley Automotive, said, "Coltec Automotive and Holley Automotive share many of the same customers and suppliers. Both divisions are expanding into Europe, and it makes sense to combine European marketing and engineering efforts into one unit. Our new research and development center in Arlington, a suburb of London, will open by January 1996 to support this expansion."
