COLT Technologies Signs Second Manufacturing Firm To Produce TekVet System Components.

SALT LAKE CITY & SAN DIEGO -- COLT Technologies(TM), a Salt Lake City-based developer of wireless agricultural technologies, today announced it has entered into an agreement with a second manufacturing firm to begin producing components for its TekVet System(TM).

The 12-month manufacturing agreement COLT Technologies signed with San Diego-based Accurate Solutions Inc. entails an initial order for 1 million TekVet Smart Sensor(TM) units to be built by Accurate Solutions in Tijuana, Mexico. The components will then be used for field testing, analysis on feeder animals and to fulfill initial orders for the TekVet System.

In September, COLT signed a similar manufacturing agreement with E-Coop, headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico. COLT anticipates a total production of as many as 20 million TekVet Smart Sensor units within the first year.

The TekVet System quickly identifies unhealthy cattle by monitoring core body temperature via a small wireless device attached to an animal's ear. When the body temperature drops below or climbs above specific temperature guidelines, producers/feedlot managers are notified electronically about the critical change in the animal's core body temperature. As a result, producers can identify and treat sick feeder animals and return them to full health faster than ever before. This lowers the cost of caring for sick cattle while increasing the average profit per animal. Inherent in the TekVet System is the ability to gather historical data for trend analysis, tied to passive RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) data.

The TekVet System consists of four components:

--TekVet SmartSensor(TM) (wireless monitoring transceivers),

--TekVet SmartReceiver(TM) (a wireless receiver and antenna system),

--TekVet SmartNetwork(TM) (a wireless (or wired) network infrastructure system) and

--TekVet SmartManagement(TM) (the "back office" software and interface application for managing, storing and reporting on network-wide operations and herd health conditions).
