COLLINS TWINS PULL INSIDE JOB\Harvard-Westlake is challenged early\H.W. 59, N.D. 48.

Notre Dame High School Notre Dame is the name of the following high (secondary) schools: Bangladesh

did exactly what it needed to do to beat the Harvard-Westlake boys' basketball team.

But then came the second half, and the Mission League equilibrium returned to normal.

Top-ranked Harvard-Westlake received a challenge - albeit for a half - but used dominating inside play by Jason Collins Jason Paul Collins (born December 2, 1978 in Northridge, California) is a professional basketball player for the New Jersey Nets of the NBA. He graduated from Harvard-Westlake School and later attended Stanford University, where he was an All-American in 2000-01 and appeared on  (11 second-half points) to beat the Knights 59-48 Friday night at Harvard-Westlake.

In the United States of America, Notre Dame  came out firing from the outside in the first half. Ryan Bowne, known for his terrific throws at the Knights quarterback, buried two 3-pointers, and Tim Anderson Tim Anderson may be:

The crowd that packed in for Harvard-Westlake's home-opener was shocked.

"I like the way we played in the first half," Notre Dame coach Chris Perez said. "That's the way you have to beat them."

But the Wolverines, fresh from two East Coast tournaments, snapped out of their sleepwalk sleep·walk

dwarfed by the Collins twins, hit all eight points for the Knights (8-8) in the third quarter, but Notre Dame missed all of its outside shots. The Harvard-Westlake defense forced Notre Dame to make several passes in order to get open shots.

"The small teams have to hit outside shots to win," Harvard-Westlake coach Greg Hilliard said. "We were able to make it tougher in the second half and we pulled away."

Jarron Collins led the Wolverines (11-2) with 18 points and Jason Collins added 17. But Jason Collins' domination inside to start the second half set the tone, and the Knights, despite being down just nine points in the fourth quarter, seemed relegated to just staying close.

"Our goal is to win every game, so we can't lose our concentration," Jason Collins said. "Their defense made it tough to move around, but we were able to get some shots inside and convert rebounds."

home for review. The Knights did provide a challenge - something Alemany couldn't do two nights earlier - and demonstrated that a good outside shooting team can give the Wolverines trouble.

Perez is not sure if the Mission League will be a six-team race for second place, but he does like his team's chances of finishing in the first division.

"If we play the way we did tonight, I think we'll be very competitive in league," Perez said. "I'm very proud of my team."

Bowne and Anderson each scored 16 points, but the Knights got just six points from John Murray Not to be confused with John Murry.

  • John Murray, 1st Duke of Atholl (1660-1724)
, who spent most of the night altering his shot or passing the ball because of the Collins twins.

"My job is to get rebounds and make guys take shots they wouldn't usually take," Jason Collins said.

"I think we were able to take control inside and stop them outside."
