The Waves (26-2), who lost to UC Irvine in five games Saturday in the MPSF MPSF Mountain Pacific Sports Federation  final, will take on No. 4 seed Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne (22-7) at 2 p.m. (PDT) on Thursday. The match will be televised live on ESPN ESPN Entertainment and Sports Programming Network 2.

Irvine (27-5), which earned the automatic berth in the championship by defeating Pepperdine, is the No. 2 seed and will play No. 3 seed Penn State (22-7) in the other semifinal Thursday.

The championship match is Saturday at 4 p.m. (PDT) and will be televised live on ESPN2.

San Diego 5, Pepperdine 0: Sophomore left-hander Josh Romanski pitched a four-hitter to lead the Toreros (34-14, 12-2 West Coast Conference) past the Waves (30-15, 10-4).

SOFTBALL

UCLA 5, Oregon St. 3: Jodie Legaspi drove in two runs to lead the Bruins (33-13, 9-6 Pac-10) to the victory over the visiting Beavers (35-18, 7-8).

CSUN 11, UC Riverside 3: Megan Smith drove in three runs as the Matadors (19-19-1, 7-8 Big West) completed a three-game sweep of the visiting Highlanders (16-31, 0-12) with the five-inning victory.
