Quinn added nine rebounds and five assists. Livingston had 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds and Pluimer scored 14 for UCLA, which won despite committing 26 turnovers.

Amber Cox led Riverside with 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Bears pulled ahead in the second half and led by as many as 21 points with 3:43 remaining.

Cal shot 51.9 percent from the field as it held Pepperdine to 35 percent shooting.

Daphanie Kennedy led the Waves with 15 points and Teiosha George added 13 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Teena Wickett, who had 21 points in Friday's victory, was limited to just two on 1-for-6 shooting.

In a game that featured sixlead changes and more than 600 yards of total offense, the outcome came down to the final drive. Down 23-20 with 51 seconds left, Clark lofted a 42-yard pass to Nick Koller, giving the Pirates first-and-goal from the Occidental 4-yard line. On third-and-goal from the Tiger 1, Clark faked a handoff and rolled out, spotting Drew Griggs for the 1-yard winner.

Clark, a senior quarterback playing on a badly sprained right ankle, finished 18 of 26 for 204 yards. He threw TD passes of eight yards to Steve Silva and 37 to Jay Tully to give Whitworth a 13-3 first-quarter lead.

Tenth-ranked Occidental (10-1) answered with back-to-back TDs -- the first on a 10-yard Andy Collins-to-Jason Lehman connection, the second on a trick play -- to grab a 16-13 advantage midway through the second quarter. Receiver Chris Washington took a handoff from Collins and fired an 18-yard pass downfield down·field

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  3, UC Irvine 0: Darla Donaldson had a team-high 10 kills and Amy Hultner added five aces as the host Matadors won 30-24, 30-28, 30-26 to tie the Anteaters for fourth place in the Big West Conference standings.

Siara Grayson and Harmony Burdine each had nine kills for CSUN (16-11, 7-7). Burdine also added 11 digs and libero Libero can refer to:

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

UCLA Preseason Tournament: James Lischer had 20 kills and Dan Rhodes added 19 as Cal State Northridge defeated the host Bruins 26-30, 30-26, 30-26, 26-30, 15-12.

CSUN also defeated UC Irvine 30-24, 30-26, 31-29 as Theo Edwards had 13 kills.

In the other match, UCLA's Paul George (Chatsworth) had 19 kills in a 27-30, 21-30, 30-23, 30-28, 15-12 victory against UC Santa Barbara.
