J.D. Schleppenbach added 15 kills for the Waves, who improved to 21-1 overall and 17-1 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. UCI fell to 22-4 and 15-4. BASEBALL UCLA 16, Stanford 11: First baseman Cody Decker hit two home runs and had a career-high six RBIs to lead the visiting Bruins (12-14, 2-0 Pac-10) past the Cardinal Stanford, 16-11, Saturday afternoon at Palo Alto (13-11, 0-2). Pepperdine 3, Saint Mary's 1: Sophomore Brett Hunter allowed four hits in eight innnigs, and junior center fielder Adrian Ortiz hit a two-run tiebreaking home run in the seventh inning to lead the No. 10 Waves (22-8, 2-0 WCC) to the victory over Saint Mary's (16-11-1, 0-2) at Malibu. Cal State. Fullerton 9, CSUN 4: Jorge Andrade, Jr. had two hits and drove in two runs for the Matadors (12-18, 0-2 Big West) in the loss to the No. 12-ranked Titans (17-10, 2-0) at at Matador Field. SOFTBALL UCLA 2, Arizona St. 0: Lisa Dodd broke a scoreless tie with a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning and Anjelica Selden tossed a two-hitter 11th-ranked UCLA (25-8, 1-1 Pac-10) defeated the visiting Sun Devils (25-8, 1-1). CSUN splits doubleheader: Mercedes Lovato threw a one-hitter to lead the visiting Matadors (13-12-1, 1-1 Big West) to a 2-0 victory in the first game of a doubleheader against Long Beach State (17-17, 1-1). In the second game, the 49ers' Kelly Cross pitched a one-hitter to lead Long Beach to a 1-0 win. WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS UCLA wins Pac-10 title: Junior Tasha Schwikert won the all-around with a season-high 39.75, as the Bruins won their 13th conference title at Arizona State. Schwikert scored three 9.95s, tying for the vault title and winning the balance beam along with teammate Anna Li and the floor exercise. She was also honored as the Pac-10 Gymnast of the Year.
