COLLEGES: MILONE LEAD TROJANS TO VICTORY.

Sophomore left-hander Tommy Milone (Saugus High) turned in his best collegiate start as a Trojan with seven scoreless innings and a career-high ninestrikeouts Monday as visiting USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  defeated Arizona 4-2.

The Trojans (25-23 overall) are now tied for fifth place with Oregon State and California at 8-10 in the conference. Arizona fell to 36-13 and 11-7.

Freshman Grant Green had three hits for the Trojans, while Lucas Duda and Hector Estrella each drove in a run.

 gets No. 3 seed in state tournament: Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  (41-7-1) is the No. 3 seed from Southern California and will open the state tournament against Siskiyous (47-2), the No. 2 seed from Northern California, at 2 p.m. Friday at Big League Dreams Sports Park in Chino Hills.

GOLF

COC See chip on chip.  fourth: The College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  men's golf team finished fourth at the California State Community College Championships at Merced Country Club. Saddleback won with a two-round score of 360-356 -- 716 while Canyons was fourth at 383-366 -- 749. Canyons won the state title last year.
