COLLEGES: CSUN TIES IN OPENER.Byline: Daily News The Cal State Northridge men's soccer team played one of the tougher nonconference schedules in the nation to open the season and fared well against the some of the top programs in the country, coming away with a 1-2-1 mark against teams ranked among the top 15. The Matadors, however, didn't look like a tried-and-true bunch Wednesday, trailing by a goal for majority of their Big West Conference opener against visiting UC Riverside before Chad Borak scored the equalizer in the 77th minute to salvage a 1-1 tie in overtime. ``We're still trying to learn how to win,'' Matadors coach Terry Davila said. ``Some of these guys need to mature, and hurry up in doing so. We need to get things going.'' Both teams had chances early on, but the Highlanders (3-4-1) capitalized first when Jeremy Clay received a throw in the middle of the Matadors' box and beat Kevin Guppy to the left post from 12 yards out in the 22nd minute.
