The college Theatre Arts Department will perform four plays Jan. 30 to Feb. 7, up from three plays performed during the past several years' festivals. ``Not only have we expanded to four plays, but we have also extended the performances to two weekends,'' said Theatre Arts Department head Mark Branner. The playwrights and their plays are Tony Carrillo Tony Carrillo is the creator of F Minus, an offbeat comic strip. Carrillo started the comic strip at Arizona State University, when he was in his sophomore year. After winning an online contest to determine the best college comic strip, Tony was awarded a deal with United Media. , ``The Watercolor Girl''; Elizabeth Clark, ``Super Plants & Toe Food''; J. Nicholas Janssen, ``The King in Yellow''; and Steve Pearman, ``The Moment.'' Carrillo's play records the collision of two people, one who seeks to unlock the love from his past, the other who wants to escape the love from her past. Clark's play follows a lion and a panda as they learn each other's secrets. Janssen's play is a fable about a king who brings in otherworldly help to squelch squelch v. squelched, squelch·ing, squelch·es v.tr. 1.
