Will Nelson had nine kills for the Trojans, while Tony Knopp added eight kills and eight blocks. Jonny Beals-Nesmith and Scott Tucker led the Banana Slugs with seven kills apiece.

The Trojans, who jumped to a 10-0 lead in the first match, improved to 3-1 overall. UC Santa Cruz fell to 0-2.

Junior Mosones had 15 kills and Eckhard Walter 13 kills for Northridge (1-2, 1-1), while Greg Logan had 43 assists and five digs for the Matadors.
