The Bruins (26-3) were serving for the match at 14-5 when the Eagles (24-8) fought off 12 match points and took a 15-14 lead before the Bruins were able to polish them off.

``We are ready to move on. I'm pleased with the way we played, but the match took a little longer than we wanted,'' UCLA coach Andy Banachowski said.

``Once the coaches couldn't mess it up anymore, I thought the kids played well,'' Banachowski said.

Porter led the Bruins with 18 kills and Elisabeth Bachman added 12.

Porter said of her game, ``I had 12 or 13 or 14 people contributing to my performance. (Michelle) Quon did a good job on defense and (Erika) Selsor did a great job of setting me up.''

The Bruins held the Eagles to a .084 hitting percentage for the match, and .000 in the first two games.

Nicole Branagh Nicole Branagh (born January 31, 1979 in Orinda, California) is an American volleyball player. She played internationally for the US National team in indoor play and is currently on the AVP tour playing beach volleyball professionally.  and Lindsey Berg powered Minnesota's comeback. Branagh, who had been ineffective through the first two games, rebounded nicely and registered 31 kills for the match.

Berg had 60 assists and four service aces for the Gophers. Minnesota is advancing to the Sweet 16 for the third time in school history.
