Undefeated, No. 5-ranked Pepperdine ran its Mountain Pacific Sports Federation The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation is a college athletic conference whose member teams are located in the western United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I.  record to 4-0 and improved to 6-0 overall Saturday night with a 15-11, 15-6, 15-8 sweep of host UC Irvine (3-4, 2-3).

Senior George Roumaine led the visiting Waves with 30 kills and an .806 hitting percentage. J.J. Riley, also a senior, added 63 assists, three digs and two blocks as the Waves dominated net play at Crawford Hall Crawford Hall is a basketball and volleyball arena for UC Irvine.

Irvine was led by junior Josh Richardson, who had 14 kills and a .650 hitting percentage.
