COLLEGE TO HONOR ATHLETES.

GLENDALE - Glendale Community College Glendale Community College can refer to one of two colleges in the United States.
  • Glendale Community College (Arizona)
  • Glendale Community College (California)
 will add six inductees into their Athletic Hall of Fame today, including an NFL head coach

NFL Head Coach is an American football video game which was first sold on June 20, 2006. Touted by publisher EA Sports as the first true 3D sports strategy game, it features former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach
 and a three-time Olympic athlete.

``It's a tribute to the athletes who are being inducted and also to the college itself,'' said Director of Sports Information Alex Leon. ``It says a lot about the college as a whole, and for the future.''

Andrew Walter Reid (born March 19, 1958) is the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. He has led the Eagles to four NFC championship game appearances, from 2001-2004.

    The Outstanding Athlete Award will go to Frank Wykoff, who attended GCC in 1929, when he also broke the world record in the 100-yard dash. He competed in the 1928, 1932 and 1936 Olympic Games.

    The other honorees will be Virginia Manker, GCC's first women's athletic director; Damon Bame, who played football at GCC in 1961 before leading the USC Trojans to a national championship in 1962; Ed Tucker, the track coach whose team won the state championship in 1959; and the 1977 women's cross-country team, who remain the only GCC women's cross-country team to win a state championship. The team counts as one inductee.

    The induction ceremony and banquet will begin at 5 p.m. at the J.W. Smith Student Center at GCC. Tickets are $50 and will be available on a first-come basis. For more information call (818) 551-5199.
