The Antelope Valley
 are getting a rare opportunity.

Monica Abbott - an All-American pitcher from the University of Tennessee The University of Tennessee (UT), sometimes called the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UT Knoxville or UTK), is the flagship institution of the statewide land-grant University of Tennessee public university system in the American state of Tennessee.  and starter on the U.S. national team - will be an instructor next week at the Sports Depot Fastpitch Softball Clinic.

The clinic, which will support the Littlerock High softball program, will be at the Lancaster Big 8 Softball Complex from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Abbott is one of several college players who will be at the clinic. Former Highland High standout Shannon Doepking, a Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team catcher, and former Littlerock High outfielder Tori Beaudette, who played for Mt. San Antonio College Mt. San Antonio College (commonly called Mt. SAC; pronounced as the word "sack") is a community college located in the Los Angeles suburb of Walnut, California, next to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona which is just over a hill.

Mt.
, the California Community College champion, are also scheduled to appear.

``A lot of people helped me out when I was growing up and get me where I am today,'' Beaudette said. ``This is just a good way to give back to the community and help the girls out here.''

Abbott and Doepking helped lead Tennessee to the Women's College World Series The Women's College World Series (WCWS) is the final portion of the NCAA Women's Softball Tournament for college softball in the United States. The tournament is conducted in an eight-team, double-elimination format.  for the first time in school history last spring. Abbott, who is from Salinas Salinas, city, United States

``I am very excited to have the opportunity to bring Monica and Shannon to the AV to help out these girls,'' clinic coordinator and Littlerock coach Sarah Adams said. ``They are both awesome players and great people to work with. It's not every day you have a player from the USA team at your clinic. We have some good talent coming to help, and we are lucky for that. I just hope this area takes advantage of the opportunity.''
