The defeat brought a likely end to the finest season in the Matadors' 10-year history. NCAA Tournament pairings will be announced Monday, and the winner of Sunday's final will claim the Big West's only certain berth. ``We achieved a lot this season,'' CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge coach Terry Davila said. ``We were two games away (from an automatic NCAA NCAA abbr. National Collegiate Athletic Association berth). Overall, this was a successful season.'' The Matadors (12-6-1), in Davila's first season as women's head coach, won more games than it had in the previous two seasons combined. Oregon State transfer Brianna Monka scored from a Kaitlyn Kelly assist to cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 72nd minute. Kelly was disruptive throughout the match, although the Matadors struggles offensively.
