Is there a hotter hitter in college baseball than Cal State Northridge second baseman Shaun Larkin? Maybe not, considering the Texas Tech transfer already has earned Louisville Slugger national player of the week honors and the Big West Conference's player of the week award twice.

Basketball player Kate Murray has been named to the conference all-academic team. Murray, a junior, is 53 points shy of 1,000 for her career. Murray is averaging 13.5 points per game.

Also, senior guard Rosa Bernasconi needs 45 points to reach 1,000 for her career. She needs to average 15 in the next three games to guarantee 1,000. She averages six points a game.
