The Bruins will add women's rowing as an intercollegiate sport for the 2001-02 season, which will help the school achieve its Title IX goals.

The addition of women's rowing, currently a club sport, will give UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles

PEPPERDINE

Even though it knocked off the top-ranked team last week, the men's volleyball team stayed at No. 5 in the nation.

Last Saturday, the Waves upset No. 1 Stanford after dropping the first two games. The victory improved the Waves to 7-2 overall and 3-2 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. The loss was Stanford's first of the season.

Senior outside hitter Scott Wong had 15 kills in the victory.

LOYOLA MARYMOUNT

The women's soccer team signed three players who coach Gregg Murphy believes will contend for playing time in the fall.

Defender Sara Aldama, goaltender Kelly Yukihiro and defender Kylie Beren signed letters of intent Monday.
