Katrin Dierolf was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation is a college athletic conference whose member teams are located in the western United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I.  Player of the Week after scoring five goals in USC's 8-4 women's water polo victory over Hawaii. Dierolf, a senior utility player, is second on the team with 30 goals. It's the third time this season USC has had a player of the week.

No. 3 USC is 14-2. The Trojans are 7-0 in conference and will play Saturday at Stanford.

CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  

Cal State Northridge basketball products are making their marks in Europe. Brian Heinle, Markus Carr and Jeff Parris - who all played on CSUN's 2001 NCAA Tournament team - are within several hours' drive from one another.

Carr and Parris are playing professionally in Austria, and Heinle - the MVP (Multimedia Video Processor) A high-speed DSP chip from Texas Instruments, introduced in 1994. Officially introduced as the TMS320C80, it combines RISC technology with the functionality of four DSPs on one chip.  of the Big Sky Conference in 2001 - is in Hungary.

``We always hang out,'' said Carr, who lives just outside Vienna. ``Jeff drove up here a couple days after the all-star game to watch me play. Me and Heinle went to watch Jeff play.''

Parris won the slam-dunk contest during an all-star game a few weeks ago. Heinle, a center, was impressive in the all-star game, according to Carr.

``Heinle had five dunks in a row and the crowd was like, `Brian! Brian!' '' Carr said. ``They're more passionate about games here than NBA NBA

LOYOLA MARYMOUNT

Top singles tennis player Tigran Martirosyan was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Month.

Martirosyan had victories over UC Santa Barbara's Carlos Palencia, Fresno State's Hector Almada and Arizona State's Clinton Letcher.

Martirosyan, from Armenia, is 25-9. Last year, he and Leo Leo, in astronomy
Leo [Lat.,=the lion], northern constellation lying S of Ursa Major and on the ecliptic (apparent path of the sun through the heavens) between Cancer and Virgo; it is one of the constellations of the zodiac.
 Graeubig set a school record with 20 wins in doubles.

PEPPERDINE

The women's golf team is ranked No. 2 in the nation by GolfWeek.com and GolfStat.com. Australians Katherine Hull and Lindsey Wright are ranked second and third, respectively, in the nation.

Pepperdine had earned the top spot last week, but Duke took over No. 1 this week.

Hull is averaging 69.83 strokes a round and Wright 70.83. Both were featured on the Golf Channel last week as part of its ``College Central'' show.

Teammate Carolina Llano is ranked 26th in the nation.
