Trailing 101-100 with nine seconds left, Jonathan George tipped an inbounds pass to Trevor Beal, who fired a 12-foot jump shot. Murray followed the shot for the game-winning points.

The victory moves second-seeded Antelope Valley (30-4) into the state tournament for the first time in school history.

Their 13th win in a row avenged the Marauders' last defeat, a 99-95 loss to the Panthers, who are coached by George Tarkanian, son of Jerry Tarkanian and a part-time instructor at Antelope Valley.

Chaffey (26-11) rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit to go ahead, 83-81, with 2:58 left in regulation and sent the game into overtime on a basket by Terrence Moore with five seconds left.

John Burrell finished with 32 points and 10 rebounds and was 5 of 8 from 3-point range. The freshman guard scored 10 of the Marauders' first points in overtime. Michael Hamelin had 23 points and six assists and George had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Antelope Valley.

Los Angeles City 89, Valley 77: Freshman Gianandrea Marcaccini scored 30 points and freshman Tyreese Basey added 21 points for the Monarchs (25-10), but the Cubs made several key plays down the stretch to pull out a victory in a Southern Regional final at LACC LACC Los Angeles City College

With the game tied at 63-63, the Cubs (27-6) went on a 26-14 run, which was fueled by Valley turnovers and rushed shots caused by LACC's tough defense. The Monarchs were then forced to foul.

The Cubs had four players score in double figures, including Rico Harris (21 points) and Antonio Simpon (20).

Sophomore point guard Benny Hoang, playing in his last game as a Monarch, finished his fine season with six points and 11 assists. Valley will return 12 players from this year's team.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Canyons 80, Valley 55: Kyetra Brown scored 20 points to lead the Cougars (31-4) to victory in a Southern Regional final at College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. , advancing COC See chip on chip.  to the state tournament.

The visiting Monarchs (24-11) were led by Lisa Nielsen with 14 points. Canyons had a 28-17 halftime advantage.
