--Brummett lifts Bruins: Junior Tyson Brummett went the distance, and the UCLA offense scored three runs in an inning four different times to cruise to a 12-1 baseball victory against rival USC at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

Brummett (6-6) earned his first complete-game victory, allowing just one run on sixhits with five strikeouts and no walks. Brummett gave UCLA (27-21, 10-8 Pac-10) back-to-back complete game wins for the first time this season after junior Dave Huff went the distance in UCLA's 8-3 victory Saturday.

Senior Chris Jensen went 4for4 with a double, four runs scored and three RBIs, and freshman Brandon Crawford went 3 for 4 with a double.

USC dropped to 25-25 and 11-10 in conference play.

--Bruins are No. 1: UCLA has been awarded the top seed in the NCAA softball tournament and will begin postseason play Friday at 5p.m. against Missouri State at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins have won a record 11national championships. UCLA claimed back-to-back titles in 2003 and 2004 but lost to Michigan in the WCWS WCWS Women's College World Series (softball)
