The Loyola Marymount men's soccer team passed what could be its toughest test of the season when Trini Gomez scored in the 34th minute on a assist from Bobby Burling to upset host Connecticut 1-0 in nonconference play Saturday.

San Diego 3, CSUN 0: Christie Dawson had a match-high 18 kills as San Diego (2-0) defeated visiting CSUN 30-23, 30-23, 30-22.
