COLLEGE PARKING LOT STARTED.

VALENCIA - Construction began this week on a much-needed parking lot at College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. . The project had been a subject of controversy until it was redesigned to save some native oak trees.

The new south parking lot on the Valencia campus will add 1,600 spaces when it opens in fall.

During construction, the cross-country trail used by the public will be closed. A new course will be laid out once the work is done.
