Many of the classes meet general education requirements, said Nancy Smith, the college's interim dean of instruction.

``Late-start classes are great for those who are looking to add other classes in order to get some more units out of the way,'' she said.

Subjects include art, chemistry, computer classes, English 1. The idea behind the term is that to a real hacker, a program written in his favourite programming language is , history, math, nursing, theater, real estate and psychology. Classes meet on the Valencia campus as well as several satellite locations, including Valencia, Canyon and Golden Valley high schools and the Canyon Country ACCESS center next to the Jo Anne Darcy Library as well as being offered online.
