COLLEGE OF CANYONS BUSINESS EVENT PLANNED.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - Tickets are available for Thursday's College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  Business and Industry Breakfast where Pacific Metal Stamping will be honored for its commitment to employee development.

The morning will feature a breakfast and two speakers, followed by a tour of the Pacific Metal Stamping.

The breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the tour scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Tickets are $40 per person.

The speakers will be corporate consultants Steve Siegel and Doug Anton, who specialize in team building and management development. They will discuss the importance of Lean Manufacturing Lean manufacturing is the production of goods using less of everything compared to mass production: less human effort, less manufacturing space, less investment in tools, and less engineering time to develop a new product. , communication and teamwork.

The emcee for the event is Alexis Fernandez, global executive of communications and communities for Rio Tinto Rio Tinto may refer to:

This annual event is sponsored by the College of the Canyons Foundation, the college's Employee Training Institute and the Center for Applied Competitive Technologies.

``The Business and Industry Breakfast brings business and education professionals together to hear about new trends in industry, to see behind manufacturing plant walls, and to learn about some of the outstanding partnerships that have been forged between the college and the business community,'' college President Dianne Van Hook said.

The college and Pacific Metal Stamping have been partners in employee training since May 2002, when they we re-encouraged by the gains Answer Products had seen in productivity and efficient work practices relating to Lean Manufacturing training.
