COLLEGE LOOKS FOR SUCCESSOR TO HARTLEY.

VALENCIA - College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  is searching for a new assistant superintendent/executive vice president who will serve as the main adviser to college President Dianne Van Hook.

The position was last held by Phil Hartley, who left to become president of West Valley College in Saratoga, Calif., last August.

The person selected for the position will be expected to provide leadership and strategic planning Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people.  for the district, serve on the college's executive cabinet, maintain a highly visible leadership role that establishes and enhances partnerships between the college and the community and serve as the district's chief instructional officer.

Candidates must have a master's degree master's degree
