COLLEGE FOOTBALL NOTEBOOK: UCLA'S TEVAGA, USC'S RIVERS STAY.

UCLA offensive guard Shannon Tevaga and USC linebacker Keith Rivers both did the expected Thursday and said they will return for their senior seasons.

Tevaga, a three-year starter, said two weeks ago he would have his draft status evaluated, but several members of the Bruins coaching staff said they anticipated Tevaga coming back.

``I felt I should at least look at my options since I would like to help my family but ultimately, UCLA is where I want to be,'' Tevaga said. ``I love playing with the other guys on the line and I think we'll be real good next year.''

Rivers, a two-year starter, gives the Trojans 10 defensive starters expected back for the 2007 season. Rivers led the team with 85 tackles and threefumbles forced.

Rivers asked for an NFL evaluation and said he was told he graded out as a second-round pick.

``I gave it a lot of thought,'' Rivers said. ``... I felt like with a year of growth I have the potential to be a top-10 or top-15 pick.''

USC is losing just one player -- wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett -- early to the NFL after fivejuniors left the team lastyear.

Peterson still unsure on draft: Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson was still undecided whether to return for his senior season or declare himself eligible for the NFL draft.

``I have spent the last few days considering my options ... The facts are that I have not hired any representation and I have not declared for the draft,'' Peterson said in a statement released by Oklahoma. The deadline for juniors to enter the draft is Monday.

Peterson is considered a likely first-round draft pick.

``He's very unsure,'' Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said. ``He's still trying to figure out what he wants for his life and what he feels is best for him.''

Citing two anonymous sources, the Dallas Morning News reported Wednesday on its Web site that Peterson had decided to enter the draft and met with Stoops to inform him. Peterson and Stoops both denied that report.

Goings, staying: Notre Dame tailback Darius Walker will enter the NFL draft and skip his senior season.

``I just really feel like it's right for me,'' he said. ``I wrote down the pros and cons and feel like it's the right thing for me to do at this time.'' ...

Speedy wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez, a deep threat and the second- leading receiver for Ohio State, will skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft. ...

Arizona cornerback Antoine Cason and Missouri tight end Martin Rucker announced they will return for their senior seasons instead of entering the NFL draft.
