PEPPERDINE vs. SAINT MARY'S

Pepperdine (16-6, 9-0) update: The Waves wrap up a two-game homestand against the Gaels before heading on a crucial road trip up north against Portland and Gonzaga on Thursday and Saturday. The game against Gonzaga could determine the West Coast Conference champion. The Waves have six players scoring in double figures and are second behind Gonzaga for the conference lead in scoring, scoring margin and field-goal percentage.

Saint Mary's (7-15) update: The Gaels are struggling to score points, averaging a conference-worst 61.3 points per game. They did, however, post a 62-44 victory Friday night over Loyola Marymount, playing one of their best games in some time, opening a 39-21 halftime lead. Paul Marigney averages a team-high 11.9 points per game. Pepperdine won the first meeting 67-51 on Jan. 11.
