COLLEGE BASKETBALL: EFEVBERHA SHINES IN CSUN VICTORY.

It's way too early to say Cal State Northridge's men's basketball team has found a replacement for graduated star Ian Boylan, but junior Mike Efevberha is raising that possibility.

Efevberha scored a game-high 30 points to lead the host Matadors to a 96-73 exhibition victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday night.

Efevberha, a transfer from UC Irvine, had 28 points in the Matadors' victory over Cal State Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  last week.

``Right from the beginning, when Mike came to open gym, he started taking command and stepped up,'' said sophomore forward Jonathan Heard said. ``It's just his presence.''

Shewmake has been out with a knee injury.

Calvin Chitwood, who made the Big West Conference freshman team last year, was in street clothes and is ineligible in·el·i·gi·ble
