Pierce 10, San Bernardino 3: Freshman Jim Landress had three hits, including a triple, to lead the Brahmas in a Mt. SAC tournament opener. Pierce dropped the second game 6-2 to Mt. SAC. Landress finished the day 5 for 8 and drove in five runs for Pierce (5-3).

Fullerton 6, Valley 4: Javier Dorado had five hits in two Stengel Tournament games, but the Monarchs (2-7) lost both. Valley also fell to Cerritos 15-3 despite Chris Portugal's three-run home run in the first.
