COLLEGE BASEBALL ROUNDUP: STRUGGLING UCLA HAS DEVIL OF TIME.Byline: - Daily News Any momentum from Saturday's upset of Arizona State was lost Sunday when UCLA lost 15-2 to the Sun Devils at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Pacific-10 Conference baseball play. The lone bright spot for the Bruins (15-22, 2-4) was pitcher Billy Susdorf, the Hart High of Newhall graduate, who allowed no runs and one hit in three innings. But that was after starter Casey Janssen (4-2) had his worst outing of the season, allowing seven runs in 2 2/3 innings. --Cal Poly 8, CS Northridge 2: The Matadors lost a weekend series for the first time in more than two months in a Big West game. Ace Brian Murphy, who had gone at least seven innings in his past four starts, was roughed up for seven runs in 5 2/3 innings. Center fielder Adam Nikolic hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning, the only runs the Matadors (25-13, 6-3) would score. |
